Rams vs. Seahawks predictions and odds for Week 18 (LA not counting)

The Seattle Seahawks, despite a poor second half of the season, can still make the NFL playoffs this week.

If they can beat the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon, it will all be considered Sunday Night Football. The entire city of Seattle will be rooting for the Lions against the Packers, because if Detroit pulls from the upset, the Seahawks will earn the last wild card spot in the NFC.

But, before they can even interest the Lions and Packers, they’ll have to get past the Rams.

Let’s dive into the possibilities of the game.

Rams vs. Seahawks odds, spread, and totals

Rams vs Seahawks betting trends

  • The Rams are 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games
  • The Rams are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against the Seahawks
  • The Rams are 0-6 straight in their last six road games
  • The Seahawks are 1-6 ATS in the last seven games
  • Under 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams
  • Over 5-1 in the last six games the Seahawks played in January.

Rams vs Seahawks prediction and selection

Don’t fall into the trap that people will repeat this week; “It’s a must-win game for the Seahawks, you have to bet on Seattle.”

Unfortunately, just because a game means more to a team doesn’t mean they’ll win the game, let alone cover the gap.

I have a lot of concerns about the Seahawks. Over their last three games, they are 25th in net yards per game at -0.6. Nor have they been great at home this season, ranking 27th in net yards per game at home.

Meanwhile, the Rams, who haven’t had anything to play for weeks, are ranked 22nd in net yards per game over their last three games, better than their ranking all season.

Let’s not forget that the Seahawks needed one last second drive to come from behind and beat the Rams in early December. Now, the Rams have an upgrade at quarterback in Baker Mayfield, who clearly plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Will the Seahawks win? Sure, maybe. But there’s no way I’m going to put 6.5 points on a team that struggled throughout the second half of the season.
